Updated yesterday

The latest EventsAir release (Version 16.3.2) is due to be rolled out from Monday, December 8 and includes various improvements and resolutions.

  • For more information on any of the items listed below, please reach out to our Support team.

  • For updates and changes to the EventsAir public API, please refer to the Developer Portal.

🚀 What's new?

Added Agenda features - Modern Event Website Builder

Give your website visitors more information with these updated Agenda features:

  • Add a heading and subheading

  • Filter options added to search

  • Show presentation handouts (with additional settings)

  • Show author affiliations

Note: These extra features will be switched on after all regions have received the updated version, so keep an eye out for them anytime from December 12 onwards.

  • You can also now see and use dynamically-updated agendas in Premium Templates.

  • Website visitors can filter your agenda by Tracks, Agenda item types, Themes, Speakers, Keywords, and start time (morning, afternoon or evening). Read more in this article.

  • Agenda handouts are switched off by default. To show them in your Agenda, you can edit the Agenda settings in your website and publish an update.

  • We’ve also made improvements to how the Agenda displays details and speakers.

📌Other improvements

Streamlined SSO process

For Attendee SSO (SAML):

On interactive sites with Attendee SSO (SAML), attendees who are already logged in to the relevant identity provider (e.g. Microsoft) don’t need to sign in again; and won't require an email code to be entered to proceed with Attendee Verification (if this is also enabled on the same site). [The external ID provider may override this and still require further authentication, but it’s no longer needed on the EventsAir side.]

For EventsAir User SSO (logging into EventsAir):

If you have User SSO set up, once you’re logged into your Identity Provider, you don’t have to re-authenticate when logging into into EventsAir. [Again, the external ID provider may override this and still require further authentication, but it’s no longer needed on the EventsAir side.]

Reviewer Portal – major performance uplift

Up to 95% speed improvement

  • Approximately 16x faster, with improved code quality and stability.

  • Processes that used to take one to two minutes are now finished in 6 seconds!

⚒️ Issues fixed

Application Setup

  • External Connections - Attendee SSO
Changing an Attendee SSO external connection was causing errors on Attendee SSO sign-in pages. [REF: AE-1323]

Express Actions

  • Bulk Creation/Bulk Cancelation Agenda items
Intermittent fault when trying to update very large number of attendees’ agenda records using Express Actions. [REF: AE-1540]

  • Function Table Allocation
If a host had multiple function registrations, their guests weren’t always grouped on their table. [Now, guests are always allocated to sit with their booking contact (host), even if the host has a separate function booking. [REF: PE-1551]

  • Meeting Matching
    - Canceling a meeting request, then blocking the timeslot resulted in the canceled meeting ID being assigned to the timeslot. [REF: AE-1406]
    - If an exhibitor with multiple meeting diaries had a timeslot booked in one diary, meetings in the same timeslot in other diaries couldn’t be accepted. [REF: AE-1401]

Online Panel

Interactive (registration) site

  • If Registration Recovery was enabled and Contact component was not editable after initial entry, all new contacts were marked as “Incomplete Registrations”. [REF: AE-1372

Modern Event website (Agenda)

  • Session dates were sometimes displayed incorrectly when viewed in other time zones. [Ref: PE-1643] NOTE: The Modern Event Website Agenda will always display in the event time zone, regardless of browser time zone.

  • Updating a speaker photo would temporarily result in a broken image. (Now, the speaker’s initials appear until new image file is ready) [REF: PE-1578]

  • Niche error: Creating multiple presentations in the same session attached to the same contact, without the contact being an author, would result in a display error. [REF: PE-1661]

  • Various display problems corrected, by ensuring the following:
    - The Agenda Details display on iPhones is anchored to top and bottom of screen. [REF: PE-1492]
    - All items and track labels display in left-to-right track order (as they do in the Agenda panel) [REF: PE-1583]
    - Multiple functions with identical timeslots, when not allocated to tracks, will display correctly in alphabetical order. [REF: PE-1585]
    - Presentation authors and co-authors display according to Sort Order settings. [REF: PE-1600]
    - Session sponsors appear in the same order as they're listed in the Session setup (Sponsors tab), and their websites appear as clickable hyperlinks (open in new tab) even when browser has ad blockers. [REF: PE-1629]

OnAir Portal / AirCast sessions

  • Closed captions weren’t working in AirCast sessions [REF: AE-1415]
