EventsAir Academy (formerly Fast Track) - transition update

Updated over a month ago

EventsAir Academy is now live and has replaced Fast Track.

Certification is available for the Basics/Beginner pathway (for new certificates) but has been paused temporarily for other certificates.

You can't download your old Fast Track certificates from the new Academy.

You access EventsAir Academy the same way you used to access Fast Track (or Rising Star, if you're a student) - by clicking "Learn" in EventsAir. The new EventsAir Academy will open in a new tab.

  • You may experience a short delay the first time you log in, as your user account is being created.

  • Also, please ensure your browser isn't blocking pop-ups.

  • If you are going to Fast Track when you use the "Learn" button, please clear your cache.

  • Access to Fast Track stops entirely on August 4, even for pinned customers, so you should NOT continue to use it. If you're using the "Learn" button in EventsAir and going to Fast Track, not the new Academy, and have cleared your cache before re-attempting, please contact Support.

Only the Basics/Beginner materials are available on the site right now. The old Fast Track Stage 2, 3, and 4 materials are still available on the EventsAir Help Site. Intermediate and Advanced lessons link to relevant Help resources and the previous Fast Track videos.

Throughout 2025 and early 2026, Intermediate and Advanced learning content will be added to the new learning site, and further certification options offered.

A brief outline of the new content is below. The “Beginner” Pathway covers much the same material as in the existing Stage 1 of Fast Track/Rising Star (although with some minor exceptions – for example, photo management and name badges are no longer included).

Some key differences (which add up to a better learning experience):

  • There’s more emphasis on empowering you to complete exercises using your own preferences (instead of specifying the exact name for a made-up Registration Type, for example).

  • Instead of 10 topics, broken into 3-5 lessons, there are 13 “Beginner” lessons, but they’re shorter. You can watch an approximately 6-8 minute demonstration video (chaptered) AND/OR you can work your way through a step-by-step lesson activity, which features the lesson video but broken down into shorter sections.

  • There’s no requirement to complete the lessons sequentially, although it’ll probably make more sense if you do. You should find this less restrictive and more enjoyable.

  • Completing all Beginner Pathway lessons isn't a pre-requisite to doing the exam. It’s obviously recommended but this should be part of your planning with your staff, if you're a manager. The exam tests knowledge of the previous lessons and use of EventsAir.

  • There is longer be an assignment set or marked by EventsAir.

  • The exam is not timed, and you can re-attempt multiple times.

  • At this stage, there aren't quizzes built into every lesson although there are interactive activities that can act as formative assessment. We appreciate this may be a key difference for some of you who’ve previously relied on these marks as a barometer of progress, but as there were only 3 multiple-choice questions per lesson, they were only ever indicative. You can set your own quizzes and assignment tasks.
