EventsAir Academy Learning Platform

Updated yesterday

The EventsAir Academy Education Program offers EventsAir users (and those interested in learning to use EventsAir, including students of event management) with flexible, interactive online learning. The learning platform is powered by HowToo.

There are a number of Sandbox events available in EventsAir that can be used to demonstrate and test the concepts covered in EventsAir Academy lessons.

If you're a Rising Star student, your sandbox events will be created automatically. If not, just use "New Sandbox Event" at the top right of Sandbox mode, and choose an event type. For example, if you choose "Taste of Technology", the fully detailed event will be created, including attendee data.

Sandbox events can have a maximum of 100 attendees. If you try to add more attendees, you'll get an error message. You may need to delete some attendees from a sandbox event if you need to add more for your testing purposes.

EventsAir Academy replaces the previous Fast Track learning platform, although while the Intermediate and Advanced course materials are being developed, the previous Fast Track videos are still available (search "Fast Track Archive" on this help site).

  • Ready for Take-Off (Basics) introduces EventsAir and covers the fundamentals such as setting up, building registration sites and attendee apps, and attendee management and reporting. There are videos, interactive activities and 'test your learning' checkpoints. Lessons can be done in any order, and you can also mix and match between Basics and the other pathways (below). There's also an optional exam to gain your EventsAir Basics Certification which is valid for two years.

  • Reaching Altitude (Intermediate) covers topics in the same order as the Basics pathway (for example, Module Setup is Lesson 4 in both pathways), but covering more intermediate options for all topics.

  • Supersonic (Advanced) again follows much the same order of topics, but covering more advanced features and options, and full workflows for certain processes (such as managing abstracts and presentations).

While the Intermediate and Advanced pathways are still being built, the certification options for these pathways have been paused temporarily.

How to access EventsAir Academy (and other FAQs)

The EventsAir Academy education program is available to all EventsAir users - select the Learn icon in the top right of EventsAir.

If you're logged out, log back in via EventsAir.

Having trouble? Try clearing your cache. In rare cases, you may find that ad blockers or pop-up blockers prevent you from logging in.

If you see a "pop-up blocked" symbol in your browser (example below - shown in dark mode), click on it to see more information. Then enable the setting for "Always allow pop-ups and redirects from https://app.youreventsairalias.eventsair.com"

Alternatively, talk to your IT team to disable any blockers in your browser, or log into EventsAir using "incognito" mode in your browser.

Stuck inside a lesson? Use the hamburger menu (top right) to navigate inside the lesson, or choose "Save and Exit" to get back to the main Academy view.

Why does my lesson score say "zero"?

Unless it's an exam, all activities and quizzes are optional, so no score is given.

Why does it say I haven't completed a lesson when I have?

Use the hamburger menu to see which parts of the lesson have no completion checkmark. Try clicking any interactive elements or spending a little longer on each screen to activate completion.

Can I see my previous Fast Track progress?

No, EventsAir Academy is a completely new system on a completely new platform. In the months leading up to the transition to EventsAir Academy, multiple emails were sent to all users, and announcements were posted via our Help/chat system (displayed in EventsAir) and in our AirWaves webinars, and in the previous learning platform itself. There are no pre-requisites in the new platform so you no longer need to progress sequentially through lessons.

When will the Intermediate and Advanced courses be ready?

We understand that everyone’s keen to have the complete suite of lessons, and we are too. But creating all the necessary videos and lesson activities takes time to do properly – and while we could have waited until all lessons were complete before launching the new Academy, we thought it was more important to launch earlier, even if only with the Basics pathway. The realistic timeframe is mid-2026 for completion of both pathways, but most likely we’ll have Intermediate by late this year/early next year.

Certification for each pathway will be made available when the lesson pathways are finalized. However, in the meantime, it’s important to remember that:

  • Many topics covered in the old Stage 2 of Fast Track are already partly covered in the Basics Pathway, including some aspects of Accommodation, building an Attendee App, Attendee Financials, the Event Website, the Attendee App, Application Setup, and Interactive Sites.

  • The content in the Intermediate & Advanced lessons in the new EventsAir Academy links to help articles and webinars that cover almost all the remaining Stage 2 topics (and other topics not covered in Stage 2) – in greater detail than they were demonstrated in Fast Track. You can see this links when you click into the lesson. For example, the below is in the “Module Setup” lesson for Intermediate:

MODULE SETUP - INTERMEDIATE

1. A very quick overview of setting up other modules i.e.: Survey, Travel, Presentations, Exhibition, Sponsorship, and CE Courses & Membership options.

2. Registration and Functions modules setup – intermediate setup [e.g. preferences, more about Registration Groups & Function Groups, fee type options, payment status options / Location & A/V for Functions]

3. More about Accommodation module set up – basic inventory management. (You can also watch this webinar all about Accommodation.)

This makes it easy to explore the relevant resources (which the new learning materials, when they’re available, will help reinforce – but the information is already there in the help centre).

  • There are also Education webinars on various topics such as Abstract & Presenter Management, Gamification, and Accommodation setup. There are other webinars for topics not covered in the original Fast Track, such as Exhibitions, Localization, Travel, and Advanced Reporting. These are all available here.

Also – ALL the old Fast Track videos are still available here
AND many set up and “how do I” type questions can now be answered by the Support chatbot.

The Education and Customer Success team are here to help if you have specific concerns.
