Release Update, Wednesday 5 February 2025:
Our latest update – including the Phase 1 release of our new Attendee App – is on its way.
As part of our commitment to system stability and reliability, we identified and resolved a sudden issue affecting image displays in Event Websites, Interactive Sites and Merge docs for some customers. This was due to a third-party provider unexpectedly discontinuing their service, which disrupted asset links, and temporarily delayed the rollout.
The release will be resuming shortly. If you're still experiencing any issues with imagery after your system has upgraded, please contact support.

This release was delayed slightly as our QA team picked up an issue requiring some further work - we're rolling it out to you from Monday 3rd February.
The latest EventsAir release (16.1.2) includes a number of improvements and resolutions to issues, as documented below.

IMPROVEMENTS - ATTENDEE APP
Welcome to sleeker, more responsive, and on-brand apps - giving your attendees improved navigation and a friendlier app experience. The new app theme is available as an option in your app setup when you choose the "Modern" theme (your previous apps won't be affected).
New Home Screen - Add your own on-brand feature image for a fresh and personalized look.
Streamlined Login - First-time users are prompted to log in, unlocking all the app’s features from the start.
Updated slide-out hamburger menu - A slide-out menu gives attendees quick access to all icons anytime, anywhere.
Customizable Navbar - Keep 'Home' always visible and configure the other icons to suit your event’s needs.
Standardized banner ads - All advertisements are now displayed within a standard wide-format area, ensuring they don’t dominate the screen.
Quick Connect (easier contact QR code sharing) - Attendees can easily share their contact QR code or scan other attendees' contact QR codes when networking.
Cross-Device Responsive Layout - Enjoy a smoother experience across devices with enhanced compatibility and improved responsiveness.
EventsAir Public API changes
If you're a developer using the EventsAir public API, please check the Developer Portal for upcoming changes. This doesn't apply to customers with Smart Connector integrations, as these changes are already incorporated within your Smart Connector.
OTHER IMPROVEMENTS
Online - Interactive sites (Logic fields)
The interactive site logic dropdowns have been widened AND text now wraps across multiple lines, so it’s easy to see and select different marketing tags, Functions, and/or Custom Fields.
Various screens
Screens have been adjusted to give more vertical space.
Attendees Panel – Change Log view
It was difficult to see the highlighted row’s data fields, while also scrolling though the log. Now you can see both at the same time.
Express Actions - Standard Export
The view was too narrow and as fields were checked, the rows would become misaligned, but this has been fixed.

Accounting – Supplier Invoice Management
Supplier invoices set to 'accrual' were changing to 'actual' when created. [REF: PQ-27]
Agenda – Session Surveys
Using an underscore in the Session Survey alias would break the link. [REF: PQ-49]
Attendees panel
Contact record - if a contact record was being viewed at the time of an update via a registration site, the updated details wouldn’t show unless the record was manually refreshed/logged back into. [REF: PQ-614]
Change Log - was sometimes showing Dietary GUID instead of name. [REF: PQ-380]
Financials - Audit Trail - If event timezone was 2 or more hours behind UTC, payment date was showing as a day earlier. [REF: PQ-429]
Communications
Manage Event Stream - Goals couldn’t be added to the library. [REF: PQ-269]
Merge Docs - Add to Wallet image was sending as an attachment (should just be inline image). [REF: PQ-550]
Event Setup
Exchange Rates - couldn’t be deleted. [REF: PQ-308]
Express Actions
Bulk Change
- Large data sets were causing timeouts when trying to update Marketing Tags using a Bulk Change Express Action. [REF: SR-688]
- The Filter button on the Bulk Change Express Action only responded after multiple clicks. [REF: PQ-541]Table Allocation - deleting a contact wasn’t removing their table allocation. [REF: PQ-313]
Online Panel - Attendee App
Text wasn’t wrapping properly (was cutting off) if a large text block was added to an HTML component inside a Static Content component. [REF: AE-72]
Online Panel – Interactive site
Accommodation
'No Accommodation Required' checkbox and accommodation search wasn’t consistent across all interactive site themes. [REF: PQ-668]
The Estimated Time of Arrival and Estimated Time of Departure components, if added to the Accommodation section but left blank, would cause loading problems with the interactive site. [REF: PQ-212]
Additional development was needed (see previous release notes) to allow attendees to modify booking dates for an existing booked hotel. [REF: AE-247]
Waitlist
The waitlist message wasn’t appearing if the Function fee type input had been set to “dropdown”. [REF: PQ-267]
Groups
Group Discount Codes with two different registration filters weren’t respecting the filter once applied to the first person. [REF: PQ-38]
The Group Summary page was flickering. [REF: PQ-69]
Group Registration counts were sometimes incorrect for large groups with discounts applied per person. [REF: PQ-322]
Payment page
Some characters in payment tokens were incompatible with some payment gateways, causing failed payments (specific total amounts were causing error codes). [REFS: PQ-571 & PQ-480]
Online (Interactive sites) & Attendees Panel (Contacts)
Invalid email formats were being accepted in contact records, and on interactive sites. [REFS: PQ-456 & PQ-22]
Online Panel – OnAIR Portal
OnAir Portal didn’t load after an Exhibitor was allowed 3D builder access. [REF: PQ-570]
Online Panel – Onsite Portal
Group Check-in Option wasn’t working if a Name Badge had also been sent to print. [REF: PQ-499]
Online Panel – Presentation Portal
A blank field for Max Number of Papers field was breaking the Presentation Portal. [REF: PQ-461]
Reporting Panel
Functions - the Incomplete Guest Name filter was causing Function reports to fail. [REF: PQ-411]
Quick Reports in Sandbox events - Quick reports automatically generated in sandbox events were crashing the Reporting panel. [REF: PQ-319]
CE Courses - the "Course List by Date - with status (CI)" – based of “Course List by Date” Report – was timing out. [REF: PQ-556]
Marketing - 'Combined Value' field in Marketing List report was misspelled. [REF: PQ-578]
Setup - Presentations
In a cloned event, Presentation fields could still be deleted even if referenced by a portal. [REF: PQ-602]
CHANGES
Aligning with Payment Gateway changes detailed in the previous release notes, if an interactive site is set up with an e-commerce gateway that’s disabled (and therefore no payment options are available), an error message appears, asking the attendee to contact the event organizer.
Custom 'from’ addresses are no longer possible for portals/apps due to new SPF requirements.
OnAIR reports now show location data based on contact profile address data, and don't determine geo-location in real time. (Map tab has been removed).
