Transitioning from Custom Development

We’ve made the strategic decision to phase out custom-developed code in EventsAir by June 2026, transitioning to API-enabled solutions. This change reflects our commitment to providing a future-ready platform with enhanced flexibility, scalability, and reliability.

This article outlines why we’re making this change, what it means for you, and how we’re supporting affected accounts during this transition period.

Why did we make this decision?

At EventsAir, our goal is to continually enhance our platform to help you create exceptional experiences for your users and attendees. To achieve this, we’ve made the carefully considered decision to retire all legacy custom development.

This change allows us to:

  • Improve platform performance and stability.

  • Introduce innovative features that meet your evolving needs.

  • Focus on sustainable and scalable solutions using our public API infrastructure.

We understand the importance of your current custom developments, and this decision was not made lightly. However, the transition to API-enabled solutions offers powerful benefits, including the ability to integrate seamlessly with other platforms while supporting your long-term business requirements.

Our growing library of Smart Connectors is a key part of this strategy, offering integrations with leading CRM, finance, and membership tools.

Where to from here?

The transition is now on a defined roadmap, with custom development support set to end in June 2026. To ensure a smooth transition, we will work closely with you to:

  1. Evaluate your current custom developments
    Our API Integration Services Team will review your existing instances and assess replacement options.

  2. Plan for replacement solutions
    Whether through Smart Connectors or tailored API-driven options, we’ll collaborate with you to find solutions that meet your operational needs.

  3. Support your transition journey
    Our priority is minimizing disruption to your business while equipping you with effective tools for success.

To view all custom development instances associated with your account, enter your organization’s alias via this portal. You can refer back to this list at any time during this transition.

How will support work during this period?

To maintain your legacy custom development/s during this transition, we’ve introduced a commercially sustainable support model.

Starting 1 January 2025, an annual fee will apply to each custom development instance within your tenant. This approach will ensure you receive a high level of assistance while allowing our team to provide consistent support and timely updates for your instances.

All primary contacts for affected accounts have been notified of the changes via email, including a detailed breakdown of their current custom development instances and fees.

IMPORTANT:

  • If any instances are no longer required, let us know immediately to avoid this fee by contacting the Integration Services team at [email protected].

  • Should you also opt to switch to one of our Smart Connectors, engage a replacement project, or opt to remove an instance in the future, we will be happy to create a pro-rata credit for your hosting and support.
